Accreditation Statement:

Texas Nurses Association/Foundation Provider Unit is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The Nurse Oncology Education Program (NOEP) is part of the TNA/F Provider Unit and funded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas.

Educational Goal:To help nurses working in primary care settings update their knowledge of hematologic malignancies, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndrome. 

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify the differences in leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndrome.
  2. Describe the major treatment strategies for the management of patients with hematologic malignancies.
  3. Discuss three survivorship concerns of a person who received treatment for hematologic malignancies.

Instructions for Receiving Contact Hour(s)
To earn 1.0 contact hours of continuing education for nurses, you must:

  • Read/listen to the content in this module carefully.
  • At the end of the course content there will be an opportunity to take the course test. You must attain a passing score of at least 80% on the test to receive credit. If you do not pass the test, you will be notified of your score and given the opportunity to retake the test.
  • Once you have successfully completed the course test, follow the prompts to complete the evaluation/registration form and print your certificate of successful completion.

This module will expire January 14, 2012.
