Accreditation Statement:

Texas Nurses Association/Foundation Provider Unit is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The Nurse Oncology Education Program (NOEP), which is part of the Texas Nurses Association/Foundation Provider Unit and funded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, wishes to thank LIVESTRONG and Alpheus Media for their support in the production of Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer.

 

Requirements for Successful Completion

The learning goal/purpose of this educational activity is:

To help nurses working in primary care settings update their knowledge of adolescent and young adult cancer, specifically as related to the unique physical, emotional and practical needs of this group of patients.

 

The objective of this education activity is:

  • Describe the disparities surrounding adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer. 

To receive contact hours for this continuing education activity, the participant must: 

  • Read/listen to the content in this module carefully.
  • There will be an opportunity to take the course test questions embedded throughout the course content,. You must attain a passing score of at least 80% on the test to receive credit. If you do not pass the test, you will be notified of your score and given the opportunity to retake the test.
  • Once you have successfully completed the course test questions, follow the prompts to complete the evaluation/registration form and print your certificate of successful completion.

Once successful completion has been verified, a “Certificate of Successful Completion” will be awarded for 0.93 contact hours.

This short video series will help inspire nurses in all fields of practice to help close the knowledge gap that exists for the AYA population. Historically overlooked, these patients have experienced little to no improvement in survival rates in more than two decades. It's time for a change!
