Pain. It's the most common reason Texans access our healthcare system, yet our state earned a grade of "C" on the Texas Pain Scorecard. In an effort to return Texas to its standing as a national leader in quality pain management, the Texas Pain Society and the Texas Pain Advocacy and Information Network will present its first Annual Scientific Meeting in San Antonio on October 23-25, 2009. NOEP Director Joni Watson, MSN, RN, OCN is a member of the Educational Activities panel discussing nursing education about pain management. By working together, we CAN improve the quality of life for Texans who suffer from pain.
